Grand Adventures with Road Scholar

Make Lasting Memories

Making lasting memories with our grandchildren is on our minds from their first breath. We don’t want them to grow up too fast, but “Oh the Places We Could Go”. We hope you are finding lots of fun ways to enjoy Grandparenting on GrandyCamp.info. We try to find Rockstar answers and have discovered Road Scholar as an ultimate resource for when those kids are old enough for big travel adventures. Their specialty is extraordinary learning adventures packed with exciting field trips designed to keep explorers of all ages engaged. They had 182 intergenerational trips listed at this writing. Learn about marine life in Hawaii, discover Paris, or search for dinosaur fossils in Utah — most importantly, you get to do it together!

The Road Scholar Mission

“Road Scholar inspires adults to learn, discover and travel. Our learning adventures open minds to new ideas and deepen understanding of oneself and of the world’s peoples, places, cultures, history and environments. A true university of the world, not-for-profit Road Scholar’s meaningful – often transformational – educational adventures engage people for whom learning is the journey of a lifetime.”

Even if your travel with a grandchild needs to be short, on a budget, and close by, you can start with RS planning tips, enter your grandchild’s age, and imagine the possibilities. There are even craft and theater options. Our own children have married later, had children later, and we can really appreciate help with building memories with the grandchildren as we age. We are busy, maybe still working, and Road Scholar thinks of everything! And they design their trips to be enjoyable for both adults and children. You can get involved now with their blog, discussion boards, and social media platforms, and start working on that someday plan.

We will be posting occasional Road Scholar trip descriptions to tempt you.
