t’s a sleepover in the land down under! Australia has more birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians than 95% of the world’s countries, and many of those animals are found nowhere else in the world. In this special overnight program, you and your family will get to experience some of the most charismatic Australian animals, up-close and personal, as part of a small group. While you sleep in tents in the camel ride exhibit overlooking Kangaroo Crossing, our Australian animals will be sleeping in their exhibit for your viewing pleasure. However, there is a chance that some of our bouncing buddies may choose to sleep indoors. Also, play fun Australian games, learn more about Australian animals, meet a zookeeper, and get to experience walking with kangaroos, wallabies, and emus before the Zoo opens. The Zoo will provide tents and foam sleeping mats to all participants, along with guidance in setting up the tents (you’re also welcome to bring your own, if you prefer.) Have an Australian adventure without leaving Minnesota!
Overnights start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 a.m. the following morning. After the conclusion of the program all participants are invited to enjoy the rest of the day at the Minnesota Zoo. We need a minimum of 15 people for the overnight to take place.
