“Happy Campers Protect Wildlife.”
That’s why the Minnesota Zoo is participating in the National Wildlife Federation’s Great American Campout again this year – and we’d love to have you and your family join us! For one extraordinary night this summer, come out to the Minnesota Zoo to learn new camping skills (i.e. pitching a tent and lighting a campfire safely), play games as a family, and learn about Minnesota wildlife in an evening packed with activity. Enjoy a sunset over the horse pasture, the sounds of a summer night, and the scent of delicious roasting marshmallows. The Zoo will provide tents and foam sleeping mats to all participants, along with guidance in setting up the tents (you’re welcome to bring your own, if you prefer). We also provide dinner, breakfast, T-shirts, and everything you need to make s’mores! You’ll leave with new family memories, plus new outdoors skills and knowledge.
Overnights start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 a.m. the following morning. After the conclusion of the program all participants are invited to enjoy the rest of the day at the Minnesota Zoo. We need a minimum of 15 people for the overnight to take place.
Ages: This event is open to people ages five and older. A minimum of one adult and one child is required.
$49 per person for Zoo members
$59 per person for non-members
Cost includes all activities, evening snack* (a slice of pizza and juice), breakfast and a T-shirt.
